About Us
Solaputi Kids’ Camp is a camp for children with serious or life threatening illnesses, such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiac illness, as well as children who have undergone a surgical operation, or wear a respiratory apparatus to assist them in breathing.
Such children often have restrictions on their activities or physical movement. As a result, they sometimes have to give up the enjoyment that people often experience during childhood, such as school trips, sleep-overs, swimming and sporting events; experiences which are important in building their confidence and trust. At Solaputi Kids’ Camp we provide such experiences.
The mission of Solaputi Kids’ Camp is to provide specialized programs for children who have a serious or life threatening illness. The programs enrich their lives and empower them and their families to deal with their illnesses. We provide camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.
Solaputi Kids’ Camp is inspired by the Hole in the Wall Camps founded in 1988 by the late actor Paul Newman. There are now 14 camps and 9 programs around the world for children with serious illnesses.
Solaputi Kids’ Camp aspires to become a member of the Association of Hole in the Wall
Camps. We continue to work toward meeting the set of requirements that will allow us to apply for provisional membership within the Association. These requirements are designed to ensure the highest level of safety, programming and financial sustainability at our camp.
