Campsite and Facilities

Solaputi Kids’ Camp is located in Maruka Kogen, Takikawa City, surrounded by the open sky and natural beauty of Hokkaido.
There is a group of facilities, and a treehouse and footpaths have been created in the forest to allow campers to enjoy the great outdoors.

Campsite

Maruka Kogen is hill country that spreads at the foot of the 286-meter Mt. Maruka, and the campground is located on approximately 16 hectares of grassland and forest.

Facilities

① Cabins

Bedrooms (bunk beds), living room, bathing room 240㎡×2

These cabins can accommodate 36 people.
The bedrooms house wooden bunk beds, and the bottom bunk is positioned to make it easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Guests can flop down in the central Japanese-style room (slightly raised tatami floor) or play games in the living room.

② Dining hall & Bathhouse

Dining hall, kitchen, large communal bath 650㎡

Dining hall: The dining hall can accommodate 100 people. Outside mealtimes, it can be used as a place for indoor games.
Large bath: There are two large baths designed with a forest and sky motif. Campers can bathe with their friends.

Cooperation: Private donations, etc.

③ Hokenshitsu (Infirmary)

Exam and treatment space, rest space (bedroom) 180㎡

A doctor is permanently on duty, and the whole camp uses the facility for medical care or when taking medicine. If campers feel sick, they can have an examination and rest quietly.


Cooperation: Relatives of the late Seishichi Yokoyama, first chairman; Hokumon Credit Union, The Japan Association of Chain Drug Stores, The Takikawa City Medical Association, and others.

④Treehouse

A house in the treetops. Capacity:10

A treehouse supported by four big trees, built with the cooperation of creator Takashi Kobayashi.
The treehouse is wheelchair-accessible, and visitors feel as if they’ve become one with the forest.

Facility construction was supported by
corporations, individuals and groups

The administrative office was constructed in 2009; the infirmary (medical building) followed in 2010, and the main facility group, including the dining hall and bathhouse and the cabins, was completed in 2012.
A treehouse and wooden footpaths were built in the forest area with the cooperation of citizen volunteers and private-sector corporations, and there are plans to build a barrier-free wooden footpath and play equipment in the future.
